Peabody seniors can enjoy musical performances and get a firsthand look at the new Higgins Middle School. The city is holding a first annual Senior Appreciation Concert on Saturday, Oct. 21 at 10 a.m. at the school, 85 Perkins St. After the free concert, attendees are invited to take tours of the school, which opened in September 2016. “Although a great number of students and parents have been inside the new Higgins since it opened last fall, many other residents have yet to see it,” Mayor Ted Bettencourt said in a prepared statement. “The Senior Appreciation Concert gives older residents another opportunity to see the new Higgins for themselves.” The concert will feature music performed by groups in the Peabody Veterans Memorial High School performing arts program and a special guest appearance by the Heightsmen, an all-male a cappella group from Boston College.
