MilliporeSigma recently held a ribbon-cutting to officially open its $115 million Life Sciences Center in Burlington. The 280,000-square-foot building at 400 Wheeler Road has nearly 1,000 employees, according to the biotech company. The facility includes a customer service and call center, and a new laboratory center where the company’s scientists and engineers will work with customers to help solve their biomanufacturing challenges and accelerate development of new therapies. MilliporeSigma is currently building a 70,000-square-foot addition where small-scale drug manufacturers can conduct early-phase clinical trials. The employees working at the center were relocated from three MilliporeSigma buildings in Billerica. The company also has facilities in Bedford, Danvers, and Natick. It plans to move the approximately 30 employees at the Natick site to Burlington next spring.
