A citizens’ petition that eliminated approximately 30 on-street parking spaces on a section of Beach Street passed by a 174-141 vote at a Special Town Meeting Oct. 16. Another citizens’ petition to limit the number of dogs a person could own to four, with some exceptions, failed, 164-119. Additionally, the 347 residents in attendance agreed to dedicate three town-owned lots near Round Pond and Gravelly Pond as conservation land. An article seeking to amend zoning language intended to make the process of making changes to nonconforming structures less restrictive failed to pass.
