Hilton Boston/Woburn recently held a ribbon-cutting celebrating completion of a $16 million renovation to its Forbes Road facility that includes a new Spanish restaurant. The project, which included updates to the hotel’s lobby, its 344 guest rooms, and the event and meeting spaces, was carried out by the Davis and Rubicon companies, which jointly purchased the hotel in 2015. Other project features included renovations to the six-story open atrium and its Rivet Room, a social space overlooking the refurbished indoor swimming pool. Designed to highlight Woburn’s historic shoe and leather-making industries, the renovations include many features that recall the cobbler shops and tanneries of that period, along with contemporary touches. The new tapas restaurant, Matadora, with a custom wood-fired grill as its centerpiece, was created in partnership with COJE Management, the team behind Boston dining spots Yvonne’s, Ruka, and Lolita.John Laidler can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
