The Chelmsford School Committee has given Superintendent Jay Lang a new five-year contract. Under the terms, Lang’s salary will rise from $180,000 to $192,500 beginning July 1. The salary will then increase gradually over the terms of the contract to $208,368 in 2022-2023. His annual performance bonus, dependent on a proficient or exemplary rating, will rise from $5,000 to $6,000 in the first year and continue to rise by $1,000 each year of the contract. The new contract also includes changes in his retirement fund contribution and a buyback of up to 15 days of unused vacation each year instead of 10 days.Linda Greenstein can be reached at email@example.com.
