Toy drive will stock Gloucester pop-up gift store

As part of its annual "Project Uplift" toy drive, which provides clothes and toys to about 600 children up to age 14, Gloucester-based Action Inc. plans once again to operate a pop-up Project Uplift Holiday Store in downtown Gloucester to allow clients to shop for gifts by appointment.

Donations of clothing and new, unwrapped toys are being collected at businesses, clubs, and other organizations throughout the region. From Dec. 16 through 20, applicants from Gloucester, Ipswich, Rockport, Essex, and Manchester-by-the-Sea may shop at the store at 11 Pleasant St.

Staffers from Action Inc. call clients and schedule times for them to come in and shop for gifts. Applications are available at Action Inc.’s office at 5 Pleasant St., or may be printed at actioninc.org/project-uplift. Dec. 18 is the deadline for applications.
