The president, as well as a coach of Woburn Youth Soccer, Brothers will be honored as the national volunteer of the year by US soccer on Jan. 20 in Philadelphia. He wants every player to have the opportunity to play and he motivates other volunteers to make it happen.

A 6-foot-5 center at Bridgeport, she scored 14 points and pulled down a game-high 16 boards in a 69-57 loss against Merrimack Dec. 19. In her first 12 games of the season, she is averaging 12.1 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 2.6 blocks for the Purple Knights.

The 6-foot-7-inch, 230-pound junior center at Bates posted career highs in scoring (18) and rebounding (13) in an 86-80 win over Alma College at the Daytona Beach Shootout on Dec. 21 . The Lawrence Academy graduate helped lift Bates to a 6-3 season start.
