Put on a costume and join Captain Gray and his first mate Joseph Ingram for the Haunted River Paddle, from 3 to 5 p.m. Oct. 30. Paddlers will set off from the Marshfield Canoe Launch at the Union Street Bridge and take a look at where the seafaring pair’s ghostly ship, the Columbia, was launched on the North River more than 200 years ago. The group will then paddle to Couch Beach for ghost stories about how the captain and his mate traveled the world. Those who can’t come for the full event can greet Gray and Ingram from the shore and will be rewarded with some sugary loot for the effort.
