Option of enlarging East Bridgewater Board of Selectmen is considered

Special Town Meeting voters on Dec. 12 gave lackluster approval to a nonbinding question regarding expansion of the Board of Selectmen from three members to five. Town officials said 47 favored an expansion and 38 were opposed. The nonbinding article, which had been submitted as a citizens’ petition, won’t require any follow-through by local officials since it was merely an attempt at getting public opinion of an expanded board. - Christine Legere
