Longtime town clerk set to retire

Helen Lounsbury, who has served as Raynham’s town clerk since 1974, has announced she’ll retire at the end of this month. The 83-year-old still enjoys the job, particularly the people she meets, but said “You just know when it’s been long enough.’’ Her 37-year run as town clerk has been pleasantly spent, she said. “Otherwise I wouldn’t have done it all this time.’’
