Middleborough to honor late town official

Anna Nalevanko, the town’s former economic and community development director, will have a memorial in John Glass Square, also known as Everett Square, once the area is redesigned. Town manager Charles Cristello said that section of downtown will be more pedestrian-friendly, once restored, and will offer an opportunity for a bench and some plantings dedicated in Nalevanko’s memory. The former development director died of cancer in September. “The location is particularly appropriate, as Anna had a business just down Centre Street from the square before she worked for the town,” Cristello wrote in his recommendation to selectmen. - Christine Legere
