Brainstorming on downtown Walpole

Town officials are looking for suggestions on how to improve the downtown streetscape at a public meeting Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at Raffael’s, 1601 Main St. The meeting is intended to be a brainstorming session, according to Stephanie Mercandetti, Walpole’s economic development and grants officer. She said the goal is to increase foot traffic and bring more people downtown to shop, dine, and enjoy the area. “Basically, it’s a tired-looking streetscape,’’ she said. “It’s probably been over 20 years since it was last redone.” - Johanna Seltz
