Emergency volunteers sought in Sharon

The town of Sharon is looking for medical and nonmedical volunteers to respond to public health emergencies. The Health Department asks potential volunteers to attend an orientation meeting Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Hixson Farm Clubhouse, 18 Hixson Farm Road. Volunteers will become part of the Medical Reserve Corps, which assists public officials in preparing for and responding to health emergencies, such as pandemic influenza and natural disasters. Nonmedical volunteers help with organizing and support. To register, or for more information, contact the Health Department at 781-784-1500, ext. 1141, or e-mail lcallan@townofsharon.org.
