Neponset River grant denied

The state found out late last month that an application for a $13.1 million grant for the Neponset River Corridor has been denied. It may now be up to local community groups and officials to find the money still needed to finish the last segments of the 9-mile bike and pedestrian trail. Some local officials have said they will help in the search for other sources of funding, and the state plans to reevaluate the project and look into possible grants or partnerships.
