Rochester businesses in compliance

Town police found all liquor-serving establishments to be in compliance with the law during a sting operation Dec. 29, Police Chief Paul H. Magee said. Police sent an underage buyer into each package store and restaurant, attempting to buy liquor. Clerks at Lloyds Market, Plumb Corner Market, and Adrian’s Package Store and wait staff at Matt’s Blackboard requested identification from the buyer and refused service when the buyer said she didn’t have an ID. The Rochester Golf Course, the other license holder in town, is closed for the season. Magee said that 100 percent compliance from license holders “is the goal of the compliance check program.” - Paul Kandarian
