The Board of Selectmen will vote on a proposal by the Avery Re-use Committee to change the soon-to-be vacant Avery School into a nonprofit community and arts center at the next meeting, Jan. 19. The vote was postponed from Jan. 5. In a proposal report, committee chairman Joe Heisler said that as soon as selectmen approve the idea, the proposal will be placed on the May 14 Town Meeting warrant and community members will get to work creating the nonprofit that will oversee management of the space.
