Cell tower response

Cindy Amara, an attorney for the town, said she plans to respond this Wednesday to claims by neighbors of a proposed cell tower that the town cannot legally lease the site to AT&T. Amara said she is preparing a response for the next Zoning Board of Appeals meeting and does not expect to meet with the town administrator or other officials in advance. The zoning board intended to vote on the tower Jan. 11, but a lawyer for neighbors of 411 East Foxboro St., the town-owned parcel under consideration, submitted a letter to the town detailing why neighbors believe further Town Meeting action would be needed for a lawful lease. The neighbors hope the town will consider an alternative site. - Jennette Barnes
