Before-school exercise

Third- and fourth-graders at Butler Elementary School will get to run around before school in a new program designed to “get kids moving,’’ according to school nurse Joan Griffin. “It’s totally about moving for 40 minutes and having fun; there’s no grading or anything like that,’’ she said. The BOKS program - which stands for Build Our Kids’ Success - is sponsored by Reebok and supervised by school staff. It will start the last week of February and run twice a week for 11 weeks. The program is free and includes a healthy snack, Griffin said. - Johanna Seltz
