A new bookstore called The Book Shack has opened in the store space of the former Borders bookstore in Kingston’s Independence Mall. Owned by businessmen Erik Christensen and Jason Zutaut, the store will offer thousands of well-known titles, bargain books, and live events including storytelling, theater, author signings, lectures and workshops, plus special events such as comedy and music. The Book Shack’s owners say part of the store space will be devoted to a 300-seat theater. Popular WGBH radio host Ron Della Chiesa will sign copies of his new book “All That Jazz” Thursday at 7 p.m. at the store. - Robert Knox
