Rabid animal warnings

The Board of Health is warning residents to beware of potentially sick or rabid animals after an increase in calls to Animal Control reporting sightings of raccoons, skunks, and other creatures. In a public notice, the board said this winter’s unusually mild weather could increase such sightings. Residents are asked to take the usual precautions, such as keeping trash barrels secure and not approaching the animals or trying to capture them. Residents should report animals they suspect may be sick to Animal Control at 781-767-5259. - Jennette Barnes
