Night sky learning

Scituate Town Library will host “Using the Sky to Know Where You Are - A History of Celestial Navigation,’’ Feb. 25 at 3 p.m. Presented by Bill Luzader of the South Shore Astronomical Society, the event will teach participants how to use the sky to determine your location on Earth, and will cover the history behind the practice, from the 1600s to today. Telescopic observation of the evening sky, weather permitting, will be available after sundown. This event is free and open to the public. - Jessica Bartlett
