I read Beverly Beckham’s column every week in the Sunday Globe, and this week’s in particular provided a much-needed “Aha!’’ moment (“A gift of inspiration,’’ Feb. 12). The message is so important, in fact, that I cut out the column to tack on the wall in my office and posted an excerpt on my Facebook page.
I am a 45-year-old mother of two boys who is using some of her gifts but - far too often - making excuses about why I don’t have time to write, practice yoga, earn my master’s, or learn to play the ukelele. I am frankly too busy helping my kids and my husband use their gifts to find time to use mine.
What have I done with the talents God gave me? I’d like to be able to say I shared them all and even discovered some I didn’t know I had. I’d like to, and thanks to this column, I’m starting now.
