Special Olympics Polar Plunge

The brave and costumed will jump into the frigid waters off Nantasket Beach on March 3 in the Massachusetts Special Olympics’ 14th Annual Polar Plunge to benefit sports programs for individuals with intellectual disabilities. The event starts with a costume parade at 11:15 a.m., followed by a dash into the ocean, and then an awards ceremony and post-plunge bash under a heated tent. Previously known as the Passion Plunge, the benefit raised about $360,000 for Special Olympics programs last year. More information is available at www.specialolympicsma.org. - Johanna Seltz
