Details on primary election

Town Clerk Brian Howard is reminding registered voters that the presidential primary will be held on March 6 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. For voters unable to go to the polls that day, absentee ballots are available. The Democratic, Republican, and Green-Rainbow political parties have candidates in the primary election; unenrolled (previously known as “independent’’) voters must choose one of the party’s ballots to take part. The deadline to apply for an absentee ballot is noon March 5. Voters can apply and vote at the town clerk’s office, or have an absentee ballot mailed to them. An application form is available at the office and online at www.townofrandolph.com. A family member can also request an absentee ballot be mailed to the voter. A completed ballot must be returned to the clerk’s office by the time the polls close on March 6 to be counted. Absentee ballots cannot be returned directly to the polling location. For more information, call the town clerk’s office at 781-961-0900 or 0901. - Wendy Chow
