New library opens this week

The Walpole Public Library is scheduled to open in its new building next to Town Hall this Wednesday, according to library director Salvatore Genovese. The library closed Feb. 8 so the staff could complete the relocation. Genovese said the new facility, at 143 School St., will provide easier access, more parking, and improved community and study space. Construction began in August 2010. - Johanna Seltz
