Norwood moves to renovate DPW yard

When Norwood’s first Department of Public Works yard was built in 1948, the town had 57 miles of road. Today, Norwood has 110 miles of roadway, and the average piece of equipment used by its DPW is 60 percent larger than that in decades past. But the old public works yard has remained virtually the same. At a recent meeting, selectmen took the first step toward changing that, voting to support building a new, $13 million DPW facility.
