School project moving forward


Moving ahead with plans to build a school complex, Holbrook has filed a document called an “initial compliance certification” with the Massachusetts School Building Authority on Feb. 23. School Committee chairwoman Barbara Davis said the document, signed by her, the chairman of the Board of Selectmen, and the superintendent of schools, certifies that they pledge to follow state law and cooperate with the MSBA. Town leaders hope to build a school complex that serves kindergarten through Grade 12, but the town previously applied to the state for a school for Grades 7 through 12. Davis said the precise nature of the project will be determined during an upcoming feasibility study. - Jennette Barnes
