New police station

The public is invited to attend the groundbreaking ceremony Friday for the new Duxbury Police Station at the site on Mayflower Street, beginning at 10 a.m. Duxbury voters approved funds for the $6.25 million project to replace the current station at Town Meeting a year ago. Town officials say construction costs are expected to add an average of $80.39 to the tax bill for the median residential property assessed at $459,700.
