Thurston Middle School principal Allison Borchers is forming a search committee to find an assistant principal to replace Richard Bernazzani, who will retire after 37 years with the town’s public schools. “Rich has been a truly exceptional teacher, role model, and school leader who has helped to shape the lives of thousands of children, parents, and fellow educators,’’ Borchers said in a letter to parents. Borchers asked parents to share ideas about what they value in an assistant principal. She is also looking for two or three parents to serve on a search committee to narrow the field of candidates. There will be a kickoff meeting on April 5 from 3 to 6 p.m., and semifinalist interviews on April 10 from 5 to 9 p.m., and April 11 from 5 to 9 p.m. - Michele Morgan Bolton
