Town Meeting passes budget

Voters at annual Town Meeting on March 10 approved the $57.024 million annual operating budget proposed by town officials for the fiscal year beginning July 1, a 3.76 percent increase over this year. Voters also approved a $2.445 million budget for the town’s water service and a $363,847 budget to operate the Percy Walker pool. Town Meeting voted to create the new position of town facilities manager, though it did not appropriate funds for the position. The town needs to find funds for a salary before hiring someone for the new post. - Robert Knox
