Clean up, Green up

Town residents are invited to help spruce up Hanson for the spring. Green Hanson, a local environmental group, is teaming up with a local Boy Scout troop and the Middle School Builders Club to organize a community “Clean Up, Green Up’’ day on Saturday. From 9-11 a.m., volunteers will be picking up litter along local roadways. Participants are asked to meet at 8:30 a.m. in front of town hall and to wear gloves, boots, and long-sleeve shirts. They are also advised to dress in bright colors for safety along the road. The event will include refreshments and a free raffle for volunteers. For more information, go to www.greenhanson.org. Those who cannot make the trash pick-up are encouraged to organize a cleanup of their own street or neighborhood. - John Laidler
