Lifelong volunteer award

Former Planning Board member and lifelong Hanover volunteer Roger Leslie has received the 2012 Spirit of Hanover Community Service Award. The award is given annually to a person who best exemplifies the spirit of the town by selfless giving of time, energy, and talent to foster a deep sense of community. Leslie, 73, operated general stores, served the Department of Public Works and the Fire Department as a call firefighter, and volunteered in myriad other ways. - Michele Morgan Bolton
