Voter registration

Town clerk Mary Ann Smith is reminding residents that Monday is the last day to register to vote for the April 28 annual town election. The clerk’s office will be open until 8 p.m. Monday to accommodate voter registrants. Absentee ballots for the election are also available in the clerk’s office. Meanwhile, the Department of Public Works said that flushing of the town’s water lines will begin tomorrow and last for six to eight weeks. The flushing, part of normal maintenance mandated by the state, will take place from 7 p.m. to midnight Mondays through Thursdays. Officials noted that flushing can cause discolored water and they suggested that residents check for discoloration before doing laundry. For more information, call the department at 781-709-1425. - John Laidler
