As populations vary, area Jews try new ways to keep community

Today begins the Days of Remembrance, a national memorial week for the Holocaust lasting through April 22. The commemoration honors the Jewish community, an ethnic group that has carried unique values, knowledge, and religion across centuries - and through a genocide that killed more than 6 million. As the country honors the post-mass murder survival of an entire culture, a mosaic of new projects in the suburbs south of Boston aim to strengthen local Jewish community.
