Day for all-around cleaning

Braintree will host its annual household hazardous waste drop-off and electronics collection on April 28 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Recycling Center on Ivory Street. The cost is $5 for 10 gallons of liquids or 10 pounds of solid materials. Costs are held down because of the partial sponsorship of Clean Harbors, a Norwell-based waste-management company. A list of items that will be accepted is available on the town’s website. The collection will take place the same day as the town’s beautification event; volunteers should arrive at Town Hall as 8 a.m. to get assignments. Cleanup will conclude at 12:30 p.m. with a cookout at Sunset Lake. Participants can sign up by calling 781-794-8901. - Jessica Bartlett
