Carver’s Larrow seizes a leading role on Crimson

Carver’s Kyle Larrow was deemed too small to play on the freshman team at Boston College High. He walked at Harvard and was a reserve infielder for Joe Walsh his first two seasons. But when an injury created an opportunity at second base, the 5-foot-11, 170-pound junior seized the moment, hitting .350 in 33 games for the Crimson and is a captain-elect for his senior season.

Kyle Larrow played freshmen baseball at BC HIgh. I coached him there and never said that he was too small to play. Also he was captain of the BC High freshmen soccer team that I coached where he was a starter.

I coached Kyle Larrow on the BC High freshmen baseball team and never said that he was too small to play. The opening sentence implies that he did not play on the team because of his size. That is not true. Kyle is a terrific man and was a fine player. He did get cut from the jv team the following year but was brought back onto the team when another player left it. Also he was captain of the BC High fresh soccer team that I coached where he was a starter.
