Town celebrates green listing

Bridgewater has made the list of the state’s Green Communities and will celebrate the new designation at 10 a.m. June 6 at the Bridgewater Memorial Building on South Street.  To win the designation, which identifies communities as “green energy leaders” and qualifies them for renewable-power and energy-efficiency grants, a town must meet five state-set criteria. To date, 86 communities statewide have been designated green. Bridgewater joins five other such communities south of Boston: Scituate, Hanover, Kingston, Easton, and Quincy.
