Handmade violins and violas donated to South Shore Conservatory
The South Shore Conservatory recently received a rare donation of 19 hand-crafted violins and violas from the wife of a deceased instrument maker who lived in Salt Lake City. The music school will loan them to student competition winners and plans other uses for the instruments by talented young musicians. They’re also the occasion for a special celebratory concert on Sunday at the school’s Duxbury campus.
