The Community Preservation Committee is seeking a resident to fill one of the four at-large positions on the nine-member panel. The committee makes recommendations to Town Meeting on expenditures from the Community Preservation Fund, which the town established by accepting the state Community Preservation Act in 2008. Financed by a property tax surcharge and matching state monies, the fund supports open space, affordable housing, historic preservation, and recreation initiatives. To apply for the open seat, send a letter of interest to the Board of Selectmen by Friday. Selectmen will make an appointment at a future meeting.
