The Art Complex Museum is holding an opening reception for the nationally touring pottery exhibition, “Stoked: Five Artists of Fire and Clay,” Sunday afternoon. The show is a celebration of 30 years of ceramic work at the Saint John’s Pottery, located at Saint John’s University in Minnesota. It features work by the pottery’s artist-in-residence, Richard Bresnahan, and four former apprentices. At Saint John’s, Bresnahan built two climbing kilns, including the largest of its type in North America. Bresnahan and Matthew Welch, curator of Japanese and Korean art at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, are scheduled to speak about the artwork during the opening, which takes place from 1:30 to 3:30 at the museum at 189 Alden St. The exhibit will run through Aug. 19.
