The Last Resort cat shelter needs donations for a yard sale to raise money for abandoned and injured cats and kittens. “Expenses have increased and a successful sale will go a long way in helping the shelter continue to provide high-quality care for hundreds more pets in need,’’ said shelter director Joan Norris. While the facility is in Hanover, shelter member Trish Glenn will host the sale in Hanson. Items may be left at the shelter at 1126 Broadway in Hanover, and at Glenn’s home at 181 Union St. in Hanson. Call Norris at 781-826-5610 or Glenn at 617-840-6997 to arrange for drop-off times. Needed are furniture, books and DVDs, costume jewelry, collectibles, tools, dishes, pots and pans, small appliances, toys and games, sporting equipment, musical instruments, tools, and household items. The sale runs Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and next Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Volunteers should call Norris.
