Mosquito information sessions this week

Bristol County Mosquito Control will teach Freetown residents about mosquito-borne illness at the Senior Center at 7 p.m. on Tuesday and 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The sessions will cover basic mosquito biology, reducing mosquitoes around residential properties, using repellents, and avoiding mosquito bites. Several mosquito sprayings occurred in Freetown during the first week of June, and testing mosquitoes for the West Nile virus and eastern equine encephalitis began last Monday, as required by the state Department of Public Health. Residents interested in requesting a spraying can call the Freetown Board of Health at 508-644-2202.
