Kingston voters will be asked at a special Town Meeting June 26 to expand the town’s solar energy district to include land off Monks Hill Road. The property’s owner has expressed interest in considering a solar energy project for the site, although there are no development proposals for it. On the eight-item agenda at special Town Meeting, voters will also be asked to approve rezoning a piece of Wapping Road, now residential, to allow commercial uses; and to rezone land between 121 and 126 Main St. to allow retail businesses. Voters also will be asked to reduce the surtax for the Community Preservation Act to 1 percent from 3 percent. The meeting will take place at the Kingston Intermediate School, 65 Second Brook St., beginning at 7 p.m.
