Developers are seeking to build single-family houses on a North Carver site where neighbors strongly opposed a solar-energy project last year. Rocky Meadow Development Corp. of Swansea is seeking Planning Board permission to build 11 houses on a site off Purchase Street, but the Planning Department favors a development of seven houses. The property originally was to be a cranberry bog, but the owners shelved those plans and proposed a seven-acre solar project that neighbors said was out of keeping with a residential area. Some who opposed the solar project are now supporting the residential project. A Planning Board hearing on the proposal will be continued at a future date.
