Interim Town Manager Joseph D. Feaster Jr. wants to remove the interim tag from his title. Feaster, 62, announced last week that he will be a candidate to permanently replace Francis Crimmins, who left office at the end of March. Feaster was sworn in April 3 and his contract expires July 31, although selectmen could allow him to continue serving while the search is completed. In his statement, Feaster said, “I’ve enjoyed the challenges of the position and am encouraged by the many Stoughton residents and prior Stoughton elected officials who have asked me to stay on as Town Manager.” Feaster also serves as a counsel for McKenzie Associates PC. The town has hired a consultant to help the Town Manager Search Committee during the hiring process. Selectmen have made it known they want a manager with experience in municipal government.
