Crazy concoctions: The Children’s Museum in Easton will host summer “drop-in” days on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning this week and running through Aug. 24 from 1 to 3 p.m. This week’s theme will be crazy concoctions where kids can make a mess with every day ingredients. “Drop-in” days are free with admission of $7.50. Youth theater: The Halifax Youth and Recreation Commission will sponser “On Stage,” a 4-week summer theater program for students entering grades four through eight, starting July 9 and running Mondays through Thursdays from 9 to 12 a.m. at the Halifax Elementary school. River Tour: Historian, naturalist, and author John Galluzzo and North and South Rivers Watershed Association director Samantha Woods lead an eight-mile paddle on North River from Marshfield to Hanover on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. The excursion will take approximately four hours and will focus on the river’s ecology and how it has changed over time. Retracing history: Jones River Landing, Plimoth Plantation, and the Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society will host a retracing of the historic journey that was made from the Mayflower to Jones River Landing in a shallop. The events will take place on and near the water between Plymouth and Kingston on Saturday between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. During this time, one may participate in the shallop voyage or attend activities at the Jones River Landing.
