►Lieutenant Junior Grade James W. Viano, son of Mary Wolfe Sullivan of Norwood and Michael Viano of Walpole, and a 2002 graduate of St. Sebastian’s School, Needham.

From basic training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.

►Private 1st Class Matthew T. Brown, son of Frank and Ann Brown of Brockton, and a 2004 graduate of Cardinal Spellman High School. He is now training at Fort Lee, N.J., with the 15th Ordinance Brigade.

From basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio

►Airman William A. Costa, son of Patricia Costa of Quincy and William Costa of Carver, and a 2008 graduate of Carver High School.

►Airman Joshua R. Kenn, son of John and Christine Kenn of Carver, and a 2010 graduate of Carver High School.
