Flares are on sale for the July 28 Hull Harbor Illumination, sponsored by the Hull Lifesaving Museum. The $10 flares are available at the museum at 1117 Nantasket Ave., online at www.hulllifesavingmuseum.org, or by phone at 781-925-5433. The museum also is looking for volunteers for the event, which starts with museum tours at 4 p.m. At 6 p.m., participants will gather at Hull Cemetery, accompanied by the Point Allerton Coast Guard color guard, to honor lifesaver Joshua James and to place flags at the graves of those who served in the US Coast Guard and two predecessor agencies, one of them Massachusetts-based. The flares will be lit at sunset around the edge of Hull Bay, from the Spinnaker Island bridge to the A Street Pier.
