Newly elected Selectwoman Helen Marrone will begin holding weekly Tuesday evening office sessions, starting July 17, from 6:30 to 7 p.m. in the selectmen’s meeting room on the second floor of Town Hall. The sessions are designed to give residents the opportunity to talk with an elected official about town issues. “One of my big platforms is open communication,” Marrone said last week. “It may take time to get the word out that selectmen really want to listen. Right now the perception is that selectmen do not listen to what residents want.” Marrone said she also plans to hold weekly coffee hours at 9 a.m. on Saturdays at various businesses. On July 21, she will be at Moore Dogs, a popular breakfast spot, directly across the street from Shaw’s Supermarket on Route 58.
