Thayer Public Library will host its second year of storytelling at the water this year, with author and illustrator Brian Lies. According to children’s librarian Elisabeth Strachan, the program aims to help bring awareness to the water spots around Braintree. The first program will occur at Smith’s Beach July 16 at 10:30 a.m., where Lies will read his book “Bats at the Ballgame” and help children make bats out of black paper. Lies, this year’s illustrator of the Summer Reading Program artwork, will also host story time this summer at Pond Meadow Park and at Sunset Lake.
